Why Support ACF?

Virginia, PA…

“I have been to Alaska several times, it inspires me. Nothing compares to the moose, black bears, wolves, eagles, seals, sea lions and whales. I first heard about Alaska Conservation Foundation from a friend in Fairbanks, and later when I visited her in Juneau and Sitka in 2002. Her concern over the Arctic Refuge and possible drilling opened my eyes to what could happen. The Foundation has been active on many fronts, when I receive my Dispatch newsletter I am always awed by the scope of work and the organizations they support.

My heart belongs to Southeast Alaska. There is nothing like watching the morning fog roll across the mountains. Listening to the rain hit the Sitka Spruce. I have to support a Foundation that will help to preserve and protect one of the last wild, unscarred places in the United States. The people who live there are open, honest and hard working, just like all of us.

As they say on one of the stickers sent to me a while back “Keep it Wild”.”

Katie & John Abshire, NY…

“Stewardship is vital for Alaska’s public lands, beginning with education and community awareness.  Valuable conservation principles fostered by dedicated local organizations and enabled by ACF helps to ensure our communities will protect and enhance all our public lands in perpetuity.”

Catie Harvey, AK…

“My support of ACF is a small way for me to take care of this amazing state.

I get so much joy from Alaska. I believe it’s critical to protect Alaska’s natural resources for all to enjoy.  I have 2 young grandsons, and I want to ensure Alaska’s bounty is here for them and for their grandchildren as well. We need to safe guard our wondrous State for future generations. And by supporting ACF through Combined Federal Campaign I can do my small part to take care of this amazing state.”

Ben Hammett, CA…

“ACF, with its years of experience as an organization of Alaskans who speak the language of Alaskans for the sake of Alaska’s future, is in a unique and powerful position to strategically fund and empower those organizations in key positions to accomplish priority long range objectives in conservation and sustainable use of resources.”

Mike Hummel, AZ…

“Alaska is truly a sportsmen’s paradise and is a unique resource for this country.  Anyone who has been priveledged to visit Alaska and participate in its many opportunities should feel compelled to preserve that resource for not only the next generation, but for generations beyond that.

ACF, through various programs and iniatives, takes action to target specific events that threaten the Alaskan resource.  An example of that is the efforts by the Sportsman’s Alliance for Alaska to understand the implications of the Pebble Mine project on the Bristol Bay fishery.  The ACF is an action oriented organization that is aligning with, and rallying, real sportsmen to understand the issues and participate in solutions.”
