Summer Internship Application is Open!

Since 2000, the Ted Smith Conservation Internship Program has placed over 300 talented students in summer internships with organizations throughout Alaska. The program is specifically targeted toward students who plan a career path in conservation and are willing to make a long-term commitment to preserving and protecting the pristine environment and diverse cultures of Alaska. 

We are offering 14 internships in 2022:

Alaska Community Action on Toxics (Anchorage) – Environmental Justice and Community Health Researcher/Advocate
Alaska Center Education Fund (Anchorage) – Youth Leadership Intern
Aleut Community of St. Paul Island (Anchorage) – Intern
Alaska Longline Fishermen’s Association (Sitka) – Program and Outreach Assistant
Alaska Marine Conservation Council (Anchorage) – Community Engagement Specialist
Audubon Alaska (Anchorage) – Public Lands and Climate Change Advocate
Center for Alaskan Coastal Studies (Homer) – Naturalist Intern
Cook Inletkeeper (Homer) – Climate and Wild Salmon Intern
Defenders of Wildlife (Anchorage) – Conservation Intern
Discovery Southeast (Juneau) – Summer Camp Outdoor Leader
Kenai Watershed Forum (Soldotna) – Stream Watch Intern
Sitka Conservation Society (Sitka) – Alaska Climate Policy Communications Coordinator
Southeast Alaska Conservation Council (Juneau) – Development and Outreach Summer Intern
Yukon River Inter-Tribal Watershed Forum (Anchorage) – Environmental Conservation Intern
