Alaska Conference on Mining Impacts and Prevention
Land, Water, Consent: Stewards Shaping Alaska’s Future
Hosted by the Alaska Mining Impacts Network, the conference will bring together up to 200 community members, conservation and climate professionals, Indigenous leaders, and funders. It will elevate the voices of those most impacted by hardrock mining in Alaska—particularly Indigenous communities—while fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing. Participants will have the opportunity to build new relationships, strengthen existing networks, and explore how the topic of consent applies to proposed hardrock mining projects. The three-day gathering will take place at the Alyeska Resort on the land of the Dena’ina in Girdwood, Alaska.
The conference will begin on Tuesday, May 6 at 10:00 AM, and conclude on Thursday, May 8 at 3:00 PM.
