Cultivating Leaders

Building today’s and tomorrow’s conservation leaders

Director’s Round Table

The Roundtable is a way for Executive Directors to learn together, as a group, about how they can run more effective conservation organizations. This cohort model of learning covers topics such as using new technology, forming partnerships with for-profit businesses, restructuring operations, dealing with changing demographics, and new ways of organizing to build community support.

Conservation Intern Program

For more than 10 years Alaska Conservation Foundation (ACF) has supported the Conservation Intern Program (CIP) to cultivate emerging leaders and engage them in the Alaska conservation movement! Over twenty students and recent graduates gain inspiration and on-the-job training while providing much-needed staff power to conservation organizations each year.

Environmental Leadership Institute

ACF  brought this training back to Alaska after a decade! Co-sponsored by the League of Conservation Voters Education Fund, the Environmental Leadership Insitute (ELI) is a rigorous program focused on strengthening campaign advocacy techniques and leadership skills.  In 2010, over 30 Alaskans working on critical conservation issues attended the training.
