Organizational Capacity

Supporting Organizations & Leaders to Build a Movement

Overview

Alaska Conservation Foundation’s (ACF) Organizational Capacity grants support organizations and leaders that are working to strengthen and expand Alaska’s conservation movement in keeping with the strategies and desired outcomes detailed in our Foundation’s Theory of Change. Our partners must also have a commitment and vision for advancing their own internal capacity to operate more effectively and sustainably.

ACF broadly defines organizational capacity to include the following best practices:

  • Sustainable funding (diversified revenue)
  • Leadership (staff and Board)
  • Stable staffing
  • Career advancement opportunities
  • Board effectiveness (clear roles, diversity, fundraising)
  • Volunteer engagement and support
  • Sound business practices (finance, HR, shared services)

2012 Update

We cannot accept any unsolicited Letters of Inquiry or Proposals for funding at this time. Please check our website again in December 2012 for additional updates to this grantmaking program.
