EPA to Initiate Scientific Assessment of Bristol Bay

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced it will initiate a scientific assessment of the potential impacts of large scale mining on the Bristol Bay watershed, including the Pebble Mine. This action is the result of requests by nine Bristol Bay tribes, Bristol Bay Native Association, Bristol Bay Native Corporation, commercial fishing organizations, sport fishing groups and others.
